Hannah Montana Photos In Vanity? You See What You Want to See…

I guess it has been awhile since Vanity Fair has raised a few eyebrows with some controversial photos, but Miley Cyrus (Hannah Montana) certainly helped that situation.

Of course, Cyrus is apologizing about the photo shoot now, saying it was meant to be “artistic” and she “never intended for any of this to happen.”

I wanted to see what all the fuss was about, so I got a hold of the picture (which was really easy since it seems to be all the news right now).

Here is what I think…

Do I think the photos are over the top? Perhaps. I think her publicist or agent should have questioned whether Vanity should run with those photos. Do these help her career right now? Probably not. Does the general public have something better to talk about right now? Apparently not.

As for the photos being “sexy” versus “artistic,” well, I suspect that depends on what you, the viewer, interprets in the photos. You either see a young girl in an artistic photo or you see, well, something else. I highly suspect, given the overreaction of society today, even Anne Geddes photos will come under fire someday (you remember, the photographer that took pictures of baby’s).  (more…)

It is a Scam, Now Stop Emailing Me…

Stop sending me e-mails that tell me to boycott Exxon, Mobile, or 7-11 in hopes that a “mass walkout” would force them to lower the price of gas. Trust me, their powers far outweigh our ability to not consume gas.

While we are at it…

Bill Gates/Microsoft/AOL are not giving cash away (even if the e-mail says “I got a check”).

Chevy’s, Denny’s, and Burger King are not giving away free food for “clicking here.”

You cannot travel around the world for free if you “sign up” now.

The Nigerian, the Orphane, and the Daughter of a Sheik do not have $168 billion they need to wire to your bank account (no matter how much they say they “trust” you). (more…)
